One Home - Two Real Estate Company Signs, Have You Seen This Scenario Before?
As the Cowlitz County real estate market becomes more and more challenging with prices dropping, larger inventory and more days on the market, etc., we are seeing one thing that I never seen before in my real estate career, more than one real estate company sign at a home, a for sale sign and a for rent sign. My guess is that knowing how challenging it is to sell a home in this kind of market home owners are living their options open trying to find a good renter to keep the home. Nothing wrong with that, the problem with this (my opinion) some companies or in some cases there is no specification about what company is doing what and this could be confusing to the public.
As REALTORS we may don't think will be hard to differentiate specially when one of the companies doesn't do rentals but if we are not familiar with the process it will be confusing. I remember the first time I saw this scenario my thought was that may be the home owner relisted the home with a different company and the old sign wasn't taken down yet, days later I saw another one that had the for rent sign on it, I realized then what was happening.
